Australian Open Mens Final 2012: Novak Djokovic beats Rafael Nadal

The Match lasted for 5 hrs and 53 mins, longest men’s final in open era. Score ( 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, (7-5) and Djokovic prevails in this physically grueling encounter two of the best players.

It was also the greatest match in the history in this tournament, defeating Nadal’s five hours and 14 minutes semi-final win over Fernando Vedasco three years ago . It will come to be regarded as one of the finest.

"Good morning everybody," Nadal's first words at the microphone. "And congratulations to Novak Djokovic. He deserved it. I will come back here a lot of years and will remain fighting."

Djokovic, shattered, kept it brief too. "First of all, Rafa, you are one of the best players ever, one of the most respected on the tour. We made history tonight. Unfortunately there couldn't be two winners. I hope we will have many more matches like this, many more finals."

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are supposed not to be close but they respect each other. Maybe they are just a slight closer after this shared skills.
This match was full of impressive rallies and astounding gets. Novak Djokovic ended with 57 winners with 69 unforced errors. While Rafael Nadal had 44 winners with 71 unforced errors.

For me, That’s a greatest match ever in the history of tennis.
