Team Azkals climb to all-time high in FIFA world rankings



The Philippine national men’s football team made a big move up the FIFA world rankings. After they make a historic run in the AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal last month. In the latest update as of April 11th, the Azkals climbed eight spots from 156th in the previous rankings to the 148th slot.

This is the highest ranking that the Philippines has ever reached on the FIFA list.

The result is the best finish the country has ever had in a major international football competition.The Azkals, behind Golden Boot winner Phil Younghusband, finished the AFC Challenge Cup in 3rd place behind North Korea and Turkmenistan.

Tehind Vietnam at 97 and Thailand at 141. The Philippines currently stands as the third-highest ranking Southeast Asian nation. Congratulations to the Philippine'sTeam Azkals made a big move up the FIFA world rankings.
